5 Best Hatton Garden Jewellers to Visit for Bespoke Rings

The best Hatton Garden jewellers make or finish rings on site, sell certified diamonds, explain prices openly and stand behind the ring after you buy it. Of the five below, we suit you if you want a bespoke ring with lifetime aftercare. Queensmith suits you if you want an award-winning showroom with published timings and returns. Regal suits you if you want certified stones from a low starting price. Smith & Green suits you if you want ready-to-wear and bespoke under one roof. E Katz & Co suits you if you value the oldest family name on the street.
The difficulty is that Hatton Garden packs dozens of jewellers into a few short streets, and the shopfronts all look equally impressive. Reviews, awards and "from" prices are easy to find, but they rarely tell you who will still look after your ring in ten years.
Each entry below gets the same checks: what it offers, what it costs, and who it suits. Prices are the starting figures each jeweller publishes, and they change, so confirm them in the showroom. We are one of the five and we list ourselves first because this is our blog, so check our facts against the others.
Table of Contents
Toggle1. A Star Diamonds
What it offers
We are a family-run bespoke jeweller at Unit 8, 99 Hatton Garden, established in 2016, and we make every ring in our own Hatton Garden workshop. Goldsmiths, designers and gemologists work with you, starting with a complimentary consultation in person or online. The design then moves from hand-drawn sketches to detailed 3D renderings, so you see the ring before it is made.
We offer natural and lab-grown diamonds. Our natural diamonds are ethically sourced and our lab-grown stones are 100% conflict-free. Our aftercare includes free resizing, polishing and cleaning for life, free engraving, a lifetime manufacturing warranty and a valuation certificate for insurance.
A ring is a lifetime purchase, so judge any jeweller on its aftercare as much as its showroom.
Price, timing and who it suits
Our online shop lists engagement rings from £2,450 for the Windermere Lab Grown up to £8,950 for the Azura. In between sit Middleton at £3,600, Aliza at £3,895, Nicole at £5,900 and Amelia at £7,800. We suit couples who want a ring designed around their own story, and first-time buyers who want patient guidance rather than a quick sale.
- Making time: typically 4 to 6 weeks for bespoke work, depending on complexity.
- Payment: instalments are allowed, but the full amount must be paid before collection or delivery. On a £3,600 Middleton, that means clearing the whole sum before the ring leaves us.
- Quotes are locked for 14 days, and made-to-order rings cannot be returned, so settle the design at the consultation.
- Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09:30 to 17:30, Sunday 11:00 to 15:30.
2. Queensmith
What it offers
Queensmith, at 98 Hatton Garden, is one of the newest names on the street and has won UK Bridal Jeweller of the Year three times at the UK Jewellery Awards. It says every ring is crafted to order in its Hatton Garden workshop, and London showroom visitors are offered a behind-the-scenes workshop tour.
It also runs an appointment-only Birmingham showroom and virtual appointments for couples elsewhere. Natural and lab-grown diamonds are available across every style, and Queensmith says around 70% of its couples choose lab-grown. It publishes a lifetime warranty, free resizing and a 40-day returns window.
Queensmith’s strength is process: timings, returns and warranty are all written down before you book.
Price, timing and who it suits
Engagement rings are listed from £1,195, for example the Bardot and Blake settings. Prices rise with the stone and metal. It suits couples who like to configure a ring online, anyone interested in lab-grown stones, and couples outside London who want a virtual consultation.
- Manufacturing takes around 4 to 5 weeks.
- A quick-ship range delivers in about 1 week.
- Read the returns terms for made-to-order pieces before you pay.
3. Regal
What it offers
Regal is a family-run jeweller at 84 Hatton Garden, trading since 2019. It sells GIA and IGI certified natural and lab-grown diamonds, and says its stones are also graded by HRD. You can inspect each diamond in 360° online before visiting.
Its styles cover solitaire, halo, hidden halo, trilogy, cluster, toi et moi and diamond band settings. Alongside bespoke work it keeps a ready-to-wear selection for immediate purchase, which helps if your proposal date is close. Regal reports more than 15,000 couples served and over 600 five-star reviews.
Regal pairs certified stones with entry prices from £918, which makes it a sensible first quote to collect.
Price, timing and who it suits
Listed rings start at £918 for the Anabelle, with Evie from £1,080, Elodie from £1,485 and Bridgette from £1,600. It suits buyers on a tighter budget who still want a graded diamond, and people who like to study a stone online before travelling in.
- Ask whether the listed price includes the diamond or only the setting.
- Ask about resizing and warranty terms in writing.
- Book a consultation if you want a bespoke design rather than a listed ring.
4. Smith & Green
What it offers
Smith & Green was founded in 2011 by Chris Smith and Josh Green and trades from 9 Hatton Garden. It is regarded as one of the world’s finest diamond and gemstone jewellers. You can buy ready-to-wear pieces or create your own engagement ring or wedding band.
The range goes beyond rings. It also sells antique necklaces and dress jewellery, so it works for gifts and gemstone pieces as well as a proposal.
If you are unsure whether you want bespoke or ready-made, a shop that offers both lets you decide in the room.
Price, timing and who it suits
Prices depend on the stone, metal and design, so ask for a written quote and compare it like for like with the others on this list. It suits buyers who want a longer-established name, a showroom with plenty to browse, and the option to add a gemstone piece or gift on the same visit.
- Take your budget and ring size.
- Ask which diamond certificate comes with the stone.
- Ask what aftercare is included.
5. E Katz & Co
What it offers
E Katz & Co, at 88-90 Hatton Garden, is the oldest trader in the district. The Katz family opened it in 1946 and still runs it. Founder Emil Katz arrived in Britain in 1939 with a few diamonds sewn into his suit. Today his son George and son-in-law Robert lead the business.
Each piece is bespoke, from engagement rings and eternity rings to wedding bands and gents jewellery. Lab-grown diamond pieces have been added in recent years. The rings are either selected or made by the family, which gives you direct access to the people who stand behind the work.
E Katz & Co offers heritage you can verify: the same family, the same street, since 1946.
Price, timing and who it suits
Because every piece is bespoke, price depends on the design and stone, so ask for a written quote. It suits buyers who value family heritage, couples after eternity rings or wedding bands, and men shopping for a ring.
- Compare its quote against two others before deciding.
- Check the certificate and the metal specification.
- Ask how long the make takes and what happens if the ring needs adjusting.
Choosing your Hatton Garden jeweller
The best Hatton Garden jeweller is the one that gives you a clear written quote, a certified diamond, an honest timeline and aftercare you can read before you pay. Visit two or three of the five above, ask each the same questions, and compare quotes for the same stone size, metal and certificate. A low "from" price means little until the ring is specified.
Take your time, because a good jeweller will not push you to decide on the day. If you want a bespoke design with free resizing, polishing and cleaning for life, book a free consultation with A Star Diamonds and bring your ideas, your budget and your questions.
